Uboldo (VA, Italy), 18 December 2024 – LU-VE Group reaffirms its commitment to the younger generation with the 23rd edition of the "Ermanno and Chiara Liberali" Scholarship program. Launched in 2001, the initiative this year rewarded 98 students, children of LU-VE Group employees, with a total contribution of approximately €190,000 - an increase compared to €145,000 in 2023. This year’s recipients include 20 university students, 74 high school students, and 4 working students (3 university students and 1 high school student).
In addition to financial support, university student winners are offered the opportunity to undertake internships at the Group's various companies.
The scholarships, awarded to the most deserving university and high school students, were granted to the children of employees from LU-VE Group and TGD – Thermo Glass Doors S.p.A. at the Uboldo (VA), Limana (BL), and Alonte (VI) facilities. Since its inception, the program has awarded a total of 569 scholarships (including Poland 2024 data), valued at just under €1.1 million.
Originally designed for employees of the Uboldo plant, the scholarship program has expanded over the years to other Italian locations, with plans to extend further to the Group's plants in Czech Republic, Sweden, and Finland by 2025, continuing the international inclusion path initiated in Poland.
Beyond financial support, the program offers tangible opportunities for winners, such as internships, underscoring the synergy between education and the professional world. Since 2023, the “Working-Students” category has been introduced, highlighting the Group’s focus on supporting those balancing both education and employment.
The scholarships are awarded by committees composed of esteemed academic figures, including Professor Ennio Macchi, Emeritus Professor at Politecnico di Milano, and Professor Stefano Paleari, former Rector of the University of Bergamo and member of the Board of Directors, alongside representatives of the Liberali family and representatives from the labor unions of the Group's plants. LU-VE Group remains dedicated to fostering talent and education, firmly believing that investing in young people is the best way to build a sustainable and inclusive future.
Matteo Liberali, President and CEO of LU-VE Group, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “We are proud to be able to support young people in their educational journeys. This scholarship program is a message of trust and a bridge to new opportunities for deserving students. Investing in the growth of the next generation is an integral part of our corporate mission and reflects the values my father always championed: humility, passion, creative intelligence, and ethical principles.”.
The initiative is dedicated to the parents of LU-VE’s President and Founder, Iginio Liberali, who completed his education thanks to scholarships and regarded them as a meritocratic and practical tool to promote equal growth opportunities: In one of his most significant reflections, he once shared: “I deeply understand the value of scholarships, which transformed my life. I was able to complete my education, from middle school to university, thanks to the scholarships provided by Necchi of Pavia, where my father worked as a laborer. For this reason, I decided to establish this scholarship program in memory of my parents. The future walks on the legs of young people: it is our duty to support them during their journey.”
